The newly inaugurated executives of UTAG-UPSA made a courtesy call to University Management. The team met seperately with the Vice Chancellor, the Pro-Vice Chancellors, the Finance Director, and the Director of Internal Auditor to introduce themselves and discuss matters of importance to members, which among others, include :
1. Timely payment of entitlements due to lecturers.
2. Rates for extra services (supervision, teaching overload, marking, etc.).
3. Criteria for promotions and appointments.
4. Remuneration for conference marking.
5. Restoration of the long-service award.
6. Resources and tools to support teaching and research.
7. Staff recreation and welfare initiatives.
The executives emphasized the need for progress on these issues to strengthen the welfare and motivation of members. They also assured management of their readiness to collaborate in finding practical solutions that balance the interests of both the university and its staff.
The VC and the management warmly received the team and the concerns raised in a constructive and cooperative spirit, demonstrating openness to dialogue on each of the issues raised.

Subsequently, discussions will continue with management to achieve concrete outcomes on the issues raised. The executives remain committed to advancing the welfare of members through constructive engagement and dialogue.
